Spring trend: floral print

Spring is just around the corner, and what better way to feel like it's spring than wearing floral printed items?
We've seen this trend on the runways for years and it's still a big trend for this year too. A floral printed item can help you achieve a feminine, romantic look. If you want to create a more edgy outfit you can add a biker leather jacket like I'm showing you in the last collage.

*Click on the item number to see more details

How to wear it:

The key to achieve a corect outfit is to keep the floral printed item the main focus of the look, keeping the rest of the outfit simple (or you can play with the prints like Olivia Palermo does, but you have to be a master at this, just like her).

Back to school outfits

For today's post I put together some back to school outfits. I don't know when school starts in every country, maybe it has already started where you live but here are some of my options. For the first one I combined a polka dot skirt with a peter-pan collar blouse, a classical black and white outfit with just a hint of pink on the bag and shoes for a not so dull outfit.

For the second outfit I opted for a bright colored dress that reminds of summer and added a short cardigan because mornings are quite chilly in this time. For me cardigans are the best item to transition your outfit from summer to fall. And of course a cute bag to carry all your items to school.

For the last outfit I chose this blue dress that looks like a two-piece and added a short leather jacket for an edgier look. And isn't that bag a cutie?

The clothes I showcased are from Persunmall. You can find many beautiful items for your autumn wardrobe at great prices because they offer free worldwide shipping and discounts on selected items.
Do you have a favorite outfit or item?

Travel in style

Tips for traveling [in style]:
- comfort is essential whether you're traveling by plane, car or train
- add a jacket and/or scarf in your handbag if you're sensitive to low temperatures like me. It's very chilly in the plane and you don't want to get cold
- don't overload your look with jewelry. If you're traveling by plane you'll have to pass through the metal detector and you don't want to lose time getting them off and put them back
- always wear flat shoes. Planes are safe in general, but accidents happen an you'll have to move fast in case of an unfortunate event. You might even have to get out through the emergency exit
- don't forget your ipod or other device to listen music, magazines or a good book to read
- last, but not least don't forget your camera. You might take some nice window shots in the plane

Trends to keep for fall 2013

I know summer is still here and the sun shines really bright giving us unbearable temperatures but it will come to an end and we must rethink our wardrobe for this fall. The stores already offer us their new autumn collection so here I made a post about the trends that we're already wearing and we can keep for the new season too.
Emerald - Pantone declared it color of  the year so it's no wonder we've seen in on the runways for this fall too

Phillip Lim

Winter white - the perfect color to beat the summer heat, white can also be adopted in the cold season too. You'll look chic and modern in an all-white outfit.

Mulberry

Military inspiration -  add some feminine touches to make your look more soft and wearable

 Phillip Lim

Leather touch - this is a trend that won't go away soon, but try to avoid the all-leather outfit (unless you're going to a costume party or sth like that)

Prada

Peplum - we're not throwing it away yet. Whether is on a skirt, blouse or dress be careful to choose the perfect shape for your body silhouette. The right peplum can emphasise your waist or give the illusion of curves if you have a boy-ish silhouette

What trend will you keep and what will you toss away?

Colored mascara

We all love mascara, it is actually my favorite beauty product for the eyes because it makes your lashes longer, fuller and it brightens the eye making it look bigger. But  today I'm proposing you an alternative to the classic black mascara. You can get inspired by the runways and add color not only on your eyeshadow but on your mascara too.
If you plan on changing your usual black or brown mascara then chose one depending on your eye color and the time of day you're going to use it.For a party you can go crazy with any color you want but for a day look chose a more subtle one.Although it looks great and it makes your eyes pop I don't recommend to wear it at your daily office job.

Chose your shade

The safest way you can experiment with a colored mascara on your pretty eyelashes is by using a blue shade. It looks good on everyone, even if you're a blonde or a brunette.Just think how beautiful would look turquoise blue lashes with light blonde hair!
A purple shade flatters most skin tones and it looks good especially on brown and hazel eyes because it emphasizes the green tones in your eyes.
You can even go for a bold green shade on your mascara or why not a pink/fuchsia if you dare.

Tips for wearing bright mascara:

  • use an eyelash curler before applying mascara (you should do this no matter the color for a bigger effect)
  • apply it only at the tips of your lashes for a subtle effect
  • for a crazy party you can go bold by using one color on top lashes and a different one on the bottom
  • for a deep color apply two coats of mascara and allow lashes to dry before the second coat
  • use a black liner to add contrast and emphasize the color of the mascara or use neutral eyeshadow tones
  • if you just want to see how you'd look with colored mascara you can apply your normal mascara and before it dries out add colored eyeshadow with a brush on top of you eyelashes while looking down
Have you ever tried colored mascara on your lashes?Do you like it?

Summer dresses

Summer caught us by surprise this year and since the sun is shining bright is time to talk about summer dresses.Colored, printed, with ruffles, sporty or elegant anything works. This season you can find in stores many great options: bright colors or pastels, floral or geometric print, with stripes or dots anything you want.Although stripes are a big trend now, my favorite print for this summer is the ethnic print.I've seen many great reinterpretations in Zara and Stradivarius that I'd love to wear. And for a cold day you just add a cardigan or a blazer and you'll look super chic. And don't forget about accessories, they are a must for very summer outfit.
I've browsed the online stores to find the most beautiful dress and made a short selection.Which one do you like?

Spring nail polishes

Clothes, shoes, makeup, hair... but what colors are we going to wear on our nails this spring? Emerald is the color of 2013, stripes are a big trend this year (thick or skinny, horizontal or vertical), pointed shoes are coming back, curls are always perfect for spring and what about nails?Nude colors go well with anything and look good on any skin tone, pastel shades look great in spring, especially with feminine outfits, bright colors are my favorites in summer, while shades of red are always in and look classic.

Celeb style - Rosie Huntington

For today's celeb style post I've chosen Rosie Huntington's outfit.I don't like the matchy-match with the animal print bag and scarf, but choosing only one printed item would be great to complete a simple outfit.Of course she's wearing an expensive Celine bag but you can change it with a cheaper one to recreate her look.I found this one for £35 at Oasis. If it's cold outside cover your head in style with a chic hat that best matches your face shape.

PLL fashion - Hanna

Hanna is my favorite character talking about style. She loves to stand out and that is shown by her clothes and accessories. Her style is feminine, glamorous and trendy.Hanna's looks are chic and trendy combining flirty ruffled dresses with a leather jacket for example.A good trick to learn from her style is to define your waist.Hanna often wears a belt over a blazer or cardigan when layering or over a loose dress in order to define her waist.
The key pieces in her wardrobe are: flirty colored dresses, heels, silk flowy tops, trendy statement jewelry, florals.Talking about jewelry the girl's not shy when accessorizing her outfits. She goes for statement pieces like big cocktail rings, layering necklaces or big hoop earrings. Her outfits are always well put-together and look very polished because for her the hallway is a runway. If you want to dress like Hanna wear lots of bright, feminine pieces and definitely heels.
Colors:  brights and pastels
Accessories: statement jewelry
Shoes: heels, even wedges

Blazer - Dress - Bag - Shoes - Bracelet

This is my last post about Pretty Little Liars.Which is your favorite character?Which style do you prefer better? Tell me what you think.

PLL fashion - Spencer

It's time to get back to my series of posts about the PLL fashion and today is Spencer's turn. She has a modern preppy, classic style.Spencer combines menswear-inspired pieces with feminine items. Her style is rather classic but she incorporates in her look modern preppy items like oxfords, plaid, loafers, nautical, stripes. She loves to layer with cardigans, blazers and combine different textures in her looks. When it comes to colors she prefers neutral tones like brown, beige, cognac, navy blue.If you want to steal her menswear-inspired, yet feminine style you could wear boyfriend jeans, a shirt and a blazer or pair a printed dress with a menswear-inspired blazer with ladylike tights and leather flat oxfords. Her everyday look is simple, but when it comes to parties Spencer goes for glam, but without betraying her style. She looks elegant, lady-like and polished with classic jewelry.
I don't like the phase that she's going through right now and I hope that she'll get out of Radley soon.I miss the old Spender.
Colors: neutral tones
Accessories: classic jewelry
Shoes: oxfords
Signature item: blazer
